There is a lot of funny ways to learn and improve your English. One method that I like very much is to work with songs.
Why Is So Good To Work your English With Songs?
Working with songs is a very good idea because you work with a material (your favorite songs) that you like and enjoy. This fact is going to make the process of learning more pleasant for you.
You can work and improve all the four basic skills (Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing) at the same time through your favorite songs.
You can work with songs by different bands and artists and then you are going to work with different accents (UK accent, US accent…).
How I Work With Songs?
It’s important to underline that I only work with songs that I really like and enjoy. Don’t waist a single second of your precious time in a song that you don’t like. There are thousand and thousand of songs waiting for you out there.
Here are the 7 steps you can use while working with a song.
- You choose a song that you REALLY like.
- You listen to the song as many times as needed.
- You transcribe the lyrics of the song.
- You read ALOUD the lyrics of the song.
- You memorize the lyrics of the song.
- You recite ALOUD the lyrics of the song.
- You sing along with the song.
You can follow these 7 steps and then you are going to work the 4 basic skills (Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing) at the same time.
You can also work through any step you like avoiding the other ones.
For example if you only want to work your speaking skill then avoid the steps 2 and 3. You can look for the lyrics in the Internet and go ahead directly to the step 4.
